The only advice I can give is to check the description of the error and try to interpret it or by looking at the flow.
The information you are looking for is R&D privilege and it isn't found anywhere as far as I know.

had feared this...it's very difficult to obtain high level hu@wei docs.
btw do you know does the parameter 'AcessTa' (highlighted in image) gives the TA value? Is it of the caller or the called party?

Access TA normally should be the TA of the call in the access phase but we don't know if the drop happened in that time or like 20 mins after from your log.
You should have the IMSI of the person left if not wrong also it is the TA of the person who had the drop(so A or B party) it doesn't say just by your logs m8.

Is there something definitive that we can know about dropped call from GCHR that we can't from analyzing KPIs? When is it useful to analyze these gchr logs?

thanks

Well it has been a while since I saw the GCHR and cannot conclude anythink without going again to check them.
But probably the flow like in all chr files can help you determine what was the problem.

there is many things that you can tell from GCHR which cannot be obtained by U2000 counters , one example is the coverage vs TA matrix , by this matrix you can get an approximation of the distance of the area of bad coverage , is it near the site or far from the site .
also another example is the drops caused by core network , you cannot identify them by the U2000 counters
