Friends,

any idea how to calculate LTE CA UE Penetration

We need to have an idea about percentage of mobiles in our network that support CA before activating the feature?

In the past we did using call traces for all the mobiles and filtering the data to extract the phone model, by doing that you'll have the phones capabilities and then you'll know if they are CA capable. Then is matter of just visual reporting

Very interesting, could you please share:
How to do call trace for all mobiles in the network?
which message exactly and which parameter information give us Phone Model?
Do you have table mapping between Phone models & Capabilities and CA support?

sorry for many question..

If you'll check there just might be a counter in U2000 showing device category.

You should do 2 things:
- Collect TAC from your BI network (The Type Allocation Code (TAC) is the initial eight-digit portion of the 15-digit IMEI and 16-digit IMEISV codes used to uniquely identify wireless devices). Count how many device per each TAC?
- Database that show device capibility for each TAC, including CA capability.

Great Info,
any idea please:
How could I collect TAC?
where could I find Database for Device Capability Per TAC?

That's kind of crazy. TAC database maybe is available in the net but definitely not up to date/completely as well as what you need is how many unique users are capable to support CA from your Bands combination that you have in the network, not CA UEs in general. Normally, this is done from the eNodeB CHRs , so if you have Nastar just click on Terminal Analyzes and find what you need there.

you are right [band combinations] of my network is very important
Do you think Nastar is capable to give UE % supporting CA for specific band combination ?

You could get TAC from CDR in core network or from BI (business inteligence) part.
For device capability you could get general information from GAMBO in GSACOM.com. But with more detail, you should have contact with some partner. As I know, GSMA is the biggest one.

Nasta could give you TAC, but you still need more help from Hua// to have fully picture about device in your network.
