Experts,

During CSFB with RIM (SI tunneling) in Nokia equipment we often coming across situations where UE is not receiving RRC release message (which contains 3G SI). This results in long setup time because UE need to wait 10s to move itself to 3G to proceed with the call.

Did anyone experience this problem?

Thanks.

-Check if it is isolated case or it involves more than 1 site or cluster
-If it is more than 1 site, Check if TAC-LAC mapping is defined properly in CS CORE
-Perform cell trace/tcp dump analysis... If traffic news is available it is much better for troubleshooting this type of scenario

Hi,

If PSHO is enabled, the RRC release are recieved in IUcs not in S1.

Hi,

Faced the same issue in our network, solved by reducing the number of 3G neighbors to be send in RIM SI request.

thanks oucht79 for sharing ur experience. but i didnt understand why RIM SI request could involve more than one neighbor ! it should be just one (configured in blind CSFB) or the best neighbor (CSFB with measurements)

Several cells with its SIB can be shared, not a single frequency as in regular CSFB.

During the RIM request is possible that eNB doesnt receive the info from UTRAN . So eNB will be waiting within the timer period only .
