Hi
if I have many sites and their coordinate how can i use mapinfo to covert their lat and long into distance and how can be done.

hi

you can from mapinfo i did
select application utm converter from tool ,create 2 column x y and make convert.

Let explain in other word if i have two nominal points and i have their lat/long how can i calculate the distance between them without using the ruler in the mapinfo. i thing it cab done in SQL query as read the help but i can not get it.

A*A +B*B = C*C
first nominal lat=A1 log=B1
second nomianl lat=A2 log=B2
the distance is
C=((A1-A2)+(B1-B2))*1/2
you can try it with excel.

try first with mapinfo tools.You have distance calculator(in tool manager...).you can do in SQL too

thank you can you show me how to do it in SQl and tried in distance calculator but for selecting ( find the closest point and farthest point) place in this case what will be reference for each site distance .
