Dear Members,

Does anybody know how to perform continuous monitoring of the network throughput and latency between 2 nodes (Microsoft Windows)?
I would like to study the performance of a Wi-Fi channel over time (i.e., the variance of the available bandwidth and packet delivery time).
So I need to conduct and collect measurements over a long interval in automatic mode.
Any ideas which software can do this?

I guess, IxChariot is able to accomplish such a task
https://www.ixiacom.com/products/ixchariot?src=ixiahome
but it would be nice to find something a little bit simpler and freeware/shareware...

Thank you in advance!

Thanks a lot for the prompt reply!
Yes, SolarWinds is my Plan B.

But both SolarWinds and Ixia seems to be too complicated for such a trivial task.
Any other ideas?

Hi
Actually IMHO SolarWinds & Ixia are "branded" companies. So ofcourse their quality of product would be also be at-par!! i.e they will give more accurate results regarding the situation than compared to that of some local vendor!!
Here's the manual regarding using solarwinds-:

Hope it somewhat helps :)

Hi
Actually i was in real hurry So i didn't see what was in it!!Just found the crack,so directly shared with you.
Generally most of the patches/keygen trigger AV bcoz they contain cryptography signatures that could be same of the some malware. They MAYBE False positive!!As this is not of me so i can't say nothing about it!!

Anyway on the topic-:
I found IxChariot uses Floating License system. So most probably it could be dongled protected!!So best is you can use SolarWinds NRM or Wireless Network Monitoring and Management as it gives FULL trial for 30 days(if you need only for some specific purpose only then it should do the job)!! Also you may also check if the given serial in above package registers it fully or not.
Moreover the company provides so many tutorials after you download it, which would be really helpful for you.

The shared archive is not a med but just a set of garbage files.

At least, IxChariot v7 used FLEXlm licenses.

Hello again

I found another software for wireless network monitoring & analysing!
link- http://www.tamos.com/products/commwifi/
Download from- http://www.tamos.com/download/main/

See if it is less complicated than previous ones...

Thanks a lot, but CommView for WiFi doesn't allow to monitor the network throughput and latency.
This software product is more suitable
http://www.tamos.com/products/throughput-test/
However, it can't save its measurements to a file. :(

Okay...
BTW can u plz tell me that --why it doesn't save the file?? is it bcoz of demo limitation or Feature is not present?

As far as i see this company's all product r protected by VMP!! which makes it much difficult to unpack! :(

TamoSoft Throughput Test is freeware but simply doesn't support saving rate records to a file. :(
