normal CP vs extended CP ?

Does any one tested extended CP (default: normal CP) ? When to use it ? what could be its impact on system performances ?

Normal CP has duration 4.7 microseconds and usually it's used on urban environment when multipath comes from relatively small distances
Extended CP has duration 16.67 microseconds and due to multipath comes from far distance (until 4 km, as i read), Extended CP is used to comprimise it

Extended will give you more reliability against ISI, but, will increase the system overhead. It is recommended for wide areas where multipath legs can propagate with very different times, such as, reflection in a far away mountain vs. reflection in a near lake.

I never seen it being used, even in rural areas.
