3G Dual carrier

Could someone explain what is the reason why the 2 carriers in a 3G cell don't serve at the same time?

Wrong configurations maybe???
you didn't probably defined them as dual on nodeb side.
missing license also

First of all share what is your problem by giving as many details as possible as none will ever bother to answer to this question.

The issue is the 2 carriers don't serve at the same time. The mobile camp in only one carrier, either the first or the second. The parameter multiCarrierSupport is already activated in the e******* network but still nothing.
What another parameter should I check for that? Thanks.

Hi,

multiCarrierSupport is read only parameter plase make sure it is "True" in RNC side, tCell parameter should be same for 2 carrier of 1 sector, 2 UARFN need to be adjacent , From RBS side u need to check configuratino of hsCodeResourceId for 2 carrier of same sector this parameter need to have same value. Feedback after u checked all

I can tell you about Nokia system
Below is the step to serve 2nd carrier well
1.CAC BW should be 42 Mbps
2. Tcel value should be same like 0,3,6 for both carrier.
3.both carrier should be in same band like 2100.
4. Directed RRC ENABLED
5.DIRECTED RRC FOR HSDPA LAYER ENABLED
6HSDPA LAYERING COMMON CH ENABLED
7. DIRECTED RRC FOR HSDPA LAYER ENHANCE
8.DRRCFORHSDPALAYERSEVICES IN RNC
9. HSDPALAYERLOADSHARETHRESHOLD IN RNC

for Dual Cell you juste need to set same Tcell to be in same LCG scheduler.
No need for DRRC features, imagine yu have free camping ...
Juste to correct that to reach 42 Mbps, non CAC BW but Iub BW to be defined 42 ..

The value of:
- multiCarrierSupport is "false" for some cells. Which parameter to tune if we want to make it "true"?
- tCell are correct
- hsCodeResourceId are 0 for all the cells. Is that correct?

This is the issue :-)

multiCarrierSupport is read only parameter and it is not changable for this case there are 2 possibility: 1. From RBS side HSDPA MC is not activated 2. The site is locked or down !!

2. tCell for 2 carrier of same sector must have same value (Cross check)

3. hsCodeResourceId for 2 carrier of same sector should have same value

4. steeredHsAllocation should be changed to True from RBS side

5. Coverage relation for carriers belong to same sector to be defined

SUrely after above changes you gonna have HSDPA MC functional properly
