I'm facing problem while running CME v200R013. I installed MSDE and then CME. On running CME it loads upto 86% where 'Booting CME server' message pops up. It gets stuck at that for some time and then exits with error 'The CME client will exit because a CME service is running improperly. Please confirm'

Any help would be appreciated. My system in Win7 x64

nope...installation went smoothly but this occurs during running the program. Only after the CME server is booted successfully, it asks to enter license.

thanks

i think the problem could with SQL. Here's the install log file result of MSDE:

Checking ...

1. Are there installed SQL Server service?
No, there are not.

2. Are there available SQL Server service which can be used by
CME Standalone?
No, there are not.

3. Is SQL Server instance name (MSSQLSERVER) available?
Yes, it is.

4. Is TCP Port (1433) available?
Yes, it is.

================================================================

Press "Enter" to continue ...

Now installing SQL Server 2005 Express Edition, please wait...
Error, read reg value failed (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server\Instance Names\SQL\MSSQLSERVER).
Skip updating TCP port for MSSQLSERVER
Installing SQL Server 2005 Express Edition finished.

If there are problems during installation, please refer to FAQs
in 'iManager M2000-CME X Installation Guide (For Windows)'.

Could that error be the root of problem? If so any solution to that?

thanks

Hi dacoder,

If you try to login in SQLSERVER using another program? You could try download SQL Server Manager and login using sa in localhost!
The TCP/IP in Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Computer Management the protocols for MSSQLSERVER is Enabled?
