Dears,

Please some enlightment about UTRP & UMPT units of the BBU3900

from Hedex:
UMPT is short for universal main processing and transmission unit.
The UTRP is short for universal transmission processing unit.

both cards deals with transmission, so what the difference?

Could we have only a configuration of one UMPT without UTRP?

Best regards,

Hello,

As far as i know

UMPT is main tranmission card while UTRP is for expansion means you can connect more than one UMPT Card through UTRP board.

You have limited slots in BBU i guess from 0-3 so if you want to connect more UMPT you need UTRP.
