What does ODM mean in suffix of some devices in "TEMS Investigation 16.2 Connectable Devices" doc, for ex. LG G2 D803 ODM?

So ODM is a function of TEMS and is not related to phone, is it true?
I want to know that if i have for ex. an ordinary LG G2 it's enough for connecting to TEMS or I need special app (like Tems Pocket) to work with TEMS?
