Hi Experts,

Do you know which are the effects of having an antenna with high VSWR?

I just want to know if this issue is reflected by drops, lower coverage or any major problem for the final user.

Thanks in advance!!

Dielectric perforation.
Power amp overloaded 'coz power reflected is dissipated as heat.
Copper feeder deteriorated.
Worst radiation performance, not total RF power radiated, a percentage is "lost" heating amplifiers...

For sure, VSWR will have all abnormal effects (lower coverage, drops , call failures, handovers failures) as you said.

I experienced this in DT and statistics

In LTE ,high values of VSWR result in low throughput due to losses

VSWR is (1+|Γ|)/(1-|Γ|)
For example :
VSWR=2 => Return loss =-9.6dB.
lower VSWR is better for antenna.
