Criteria in judging a DL interferer in LTE

Dear experts,

need your help on how does the DL interference from neighboring cells is considered an interferer? If UMTS has pilot pollution, wherein usually more than 3 Active Sets, RSCP is more than -85 dBm and RSCP1st-RSCP4th=5 dB is considered a pilot polluter.

In LTE the pilot pollution criteria as in UMTS can actually used in my opinion. Same like in UMTS, the main goal is to establish good dominance and minimize coverage overlaps. I guess a good indicator is to minimize the coverage overlapping to under 3 cells as much as possible, especially for cells that have RSRP > -90 dBm. Of course this can have coverage consequence when you downtilt too much.

You also can see CINR or SNR value, which indicate how good our serving cell. Should be higher than 20 dB, if lower indicate high interference from surrounding cell.
