I noticed that the mobile while in connected mode (send measurements reports and receive ActiveSet update and Measurement control messages) switch to reading SYSTEM INFO messages like SIB TYPE 7, TYPE 1 & TYPE 12 then return back normal exchange (ActiveSet update a confirm measurments reports ...)

Is it a normal behavior in 3G?

This behaviour in latest handsets (e.g. Samsung) is very confusing while analysing log files. When we asked this from Nemo team they said their tool is simply displaying what handset is doing. I'm not sure whether handset is making use of it to make any decisions.
