1 Summary
This guid conclude the following contents:

2 Planning and configuration before site configuration

2.1 Necessary knowledge

First of all,we should make a plan,you should know,there are 3 kinds of board which is most important,
DTB board for transmission,EIPI(logic name is EUIP) board for dealing with HDLC protocol,and GUP2(logic name in Abis is BIPB2)for IP protocol.
You should know that one DTB board can support 32 E1s.and one EIPI(EUIP) can deal with HDLC protocol for 64 E1s,so 2 DTB boards can be used for one EIPI(EUIP).
Because all the SDR sites has no more than 12(S444)carriers for HTG,every SDR With 1 E1 transmission is enough.2 DTB and 1 EIPI (EUIP) can be used for 64 SDR sites.

Notes:you can see the follow first picture,the EUIP 2MHW No. is from 9~72,64 in total,but the DT PCM No. is from 9~40,32 in total.so when the pcm of 232 DTB is used up,we should change the DT Unit No, to 233 DTB.For example,use PCM 9 of 233 DTB to corresponding EUIP 2MHW No. 41 in sequence.

Every SDR must have one HDLC no. according to our situation.

you should calculate and make every DSP’s payload in average as possible as you can.

2. BIPB2’s hardware name is GUP2.2.
3 BIPB2 configuration.
4 Important planning
When we finish all data configuration we talked before,we should make a data plan.

and one BIPB2 supports 15 DSP. below is an example for reference.
We should configure all DSP as IP support for SDR IP protocol dealing with,one DSP can deal with 28 carriers at most.


The commissioning of the SDR include 3 parts data configuration:

IP related config
Radio data configuration
Physical data configuration


Notes: we should finish all 3 parts preparation before we commission the SDR.

3.1.IPBB board is responsible for IBSC communication with OMCB.1
Add IPBB IP for communication with OMCB OMCB is responsible for SDR management.

WHILE WE FINISH CHAPTER 2 WE CAN GO TO CHAPTER 3 AND START SITE CONFIGURATION.
1IP related configuration
Below is a simple topology between SDR and our IBSC board.

Add EUIP IP for SDR gateway 3.1. and HDLC No. according to our SDR data plan sheet.

2.1 Create Site Right click Site Config to creat Site.2 Radio data configuration 3.3. .

In general,we can plan the BVCI using Siteid+cellid .2 Create Cell Right click to creat cell.2.you should finish Gb interface integration with CN),you should configure GPRS Basic Params also. When you select this site support GPRS(before you shoose this.and fill in BVCI according to your plan.Fill in NSEI and RAC according to Gb interface integration parameters.3.

3. .2.3 Create TRX Right click cell to create TRX.
please add PDTCH+PACCH+PTCCH channel. .
If the site support GPRS.

3.1 Create SDR physical data by tools We can use our batch configure tool to finish SDR physical data configuration,first we use our excel template batch configure many SDR,the we use our tool to convert and create some xml format physical from excel template file.3.then we Import the xml format file to our server for new SDR commission. .

2 How to use SDR physical data which we create by tools
Important notice Our SDR dispatched very early,so the SDR default version is a little old,
we should make a big version upgrade when we commission the new SDR site,
we should use 2 server to do it.first to create a SDR management element to link SDR automatically,
then upgrade the SDR interim version,
load the SDR physical data configuration at the same time。
Then we use separate OMCB server to create the SDR management element,
link and upgrade the SDR final version.Below is the method to commission our new SDR.
we use iOMCR+OMCB server called ISMG.3.



Create SDR management element from ISMG .3.



Import SDR physical configuration data here.
Create SDR management element from separate OMCB .


Below picture. we just import 1 SDR physical configuration,you can also import many SDR physical configuration at the same time .
and switchover the new data as master config set.When you successful import the data,

the SDR management element in OMCB will be created Double click new config ser we imported. .
you should find out which DTB we use to connect this new SDR,and then find out which E1 in this DTB we use to connect this new SDR.and then we should found the 232 DTB. all the 3 parts data configuration of one SDR is finished,
we start to commission this new SDR site.For example,we can find out that PCM 10 on DTB 232 used to connected site 2.

Commission of SDR site
There are 7 step of commission of SDR site
Step 1:
First,according to our SDR data plan sheet.and right click IBSC,we can open the alarm rack.DTB pcm range from 9~40.
Below is the picture:
. 4.which we used its PCM 10 (2th E1) to connect new SDR,
then we right click to Show Current Board Alarm.corresponding to E1 1~32)

Step 2:
Open the Fault management from ISMG.(PCM 10 means 2th E1 on DTB.Important notice: From now on.

Because PCM 10(2th E1)is used to connect site2 according to our SDR .
we can found the SDR management element is already linked automaticly.if the E1:10 alarm disappear.data plan.and click the button for download version. .

Step 4:
Open Base Station software managemant
Plese follow the steps in the picture.that means the E1 for our site2 is OK.

Step 3: Change to configuration management from ISMG.
click ok: A
fter you click ok button,the interface will be like this,select the SDR you are ready to commision,and right click to download version:
When you click the button,the interface will be like below picture.

Step 5:
Active the version.
If the download is finished,
that will be display “success”.
When you finish click Package Download,
close this window.and check the rate of progress.
When you finish version activation from ISMG.

Step 6:
Change to check SDR management element from OMCB.
and change to link with OMCB.
the SDR will restart. .
Right click to download.

Step 7:
Open Base Station Softeware Management from OMCB,and follow the the way as the picture show to download the final version to SDR.
Click OK.

Close the Download interface,and go to check the rate of progress: When the version download is finished.click the button for version activation: Right click to active the version: .

we should wait until all board alarms disappear.we can see some board is initialing at the beganning.
(The function of Packege activation operation is also to make SDR restart and active the version)
Wait some minutes,After SDR restart .the SDR will link with OMCB again,we can open Fault management from OMCB to check alarms about this SDR.then that SDR .
If the package activation operation fail,it doesn’t matter,we can open configuration management from OMCB , and do the Synchronzie All Tables operation to this SDR.
the SDR will restart and also active the version itself.later.

.will be OK.
