Hi,

In HSDPA each terminal will only need to consider a maximum of four HS-SCCHs at a given time. My Question is what if UE is served by Multi-Carrier Cells. what will be the case? Where each Cell has numOfHsscchCodes set to 4, for example.

numOfHsscchCodes, is a parameter which allows how many Users can be scheduled during on TTI.

its automatically arranged by E// scheduler, only during busy hours and high load more than 1 user is fitted in one TTi.
if there is no need then there is only one user, we did try to reduce this parameter for value 1. it degraded NW performance, delays were increased and throughput was also lower.

Hi,

there is very nice whitepaper by Anritsu which is called: "Understanding LTE-Advanced Carrier Aggregation". It covers also HSPA+ carrier aggregation. On page 17 it says:

The UE monitors a maximum of 6 HS-SCCH in total (with a maximum of 4 HS-SCCH per
carrier). This number was agreed as a compromise between limiting the complexity of UEs
(Rel-8 HSDPA requires UEs to be capable of monitoring up to 4 HS-SCCHs on a single carrier),
and limiting the blocking probability (i.e. the probability that a packet cannot be scheduled
because there is no control channel available) which increases when the number of HS-SCCH
decreases. Moreover, it was agreed that the HS-SCCH is mapped on the same carrier as the
data transmission of the HS-PDSCHs it controls.
