Hi Guys,

What is the acceptable uplink RSSI and SINR range for FDD LTE in active DASs? I'm seeing an active DAS with uplink RSSI at -112 dBm and uplink throughput is very bad (NSN equipment).
But in same system another operator is there with E******* eNB and they they their RSSI is -116 dBm and their uplink throughput is fine(As per them).

Does this RSSI calculation varies between different vendors?

Also if we have to tune UL DAS gain then to which RSSI value we should aim?

Thanks

Hi

It doesn't depend on vendor or in general the behavior is the same. Higher RSSI, better the signal. I is not only RSSI hat is important. First DAS that you have mentioned might be experiencing significant interference thus giving poor throughput.
-116dBm is OK from my experience.

Thanks dekili. Our DAS RSSI is around -112 dBm i.e. there isn't any interference I'd say.

RSSI of -116dBm is reasonally OK value.

Better to check product sensitivity details ( which depends on vendor/RRU type) and configuration details

check the specs if you have any combiner?
in case you have...

whether the combiner supports x number of frequencies.
ex. 1
combiner supports 4 x 5 MHz freq
2 x 5 MHz for 3G
2 x 5 MHz for LTE

then it is fine

ex. 2
combiner supports 3 x 5 MHz freq

then if you reserved
2 x 5 MHz freq for 3G
?? only 1 x 5 MHz freq can only be use for LTE

or vice versa.

just my opinion.

its easy to check with them !!!!!
