Dear Experts,

I am in a lot of problem. Please I need help...

In my newly launched 3G network, 2G E*******, 3G Huawei... I am facing a peculiar problem. While I am surfing suddenly the "H" sign disappear (in a good 3G coverage) and I cannot do any data browsing anything. Edge also dont appear! I then have to Enable Disable Mobile Data(android) and then everything is normal.

This was observed in some handsets only, because I dint receive any complaint from conventional 3G handset.

Please help me as some top level management have complaint about the same, and I can't find the reason.

This is very sporadic and happens sometimes only. Is it related to Enhanced Fastdormancy?

I did DT 30-40 times but couldn't get the same. Now I have ordered for doing DT with smart handset, hope we can find something.

Please help friends.

Thanks

Hi,
you should try to get some trace from the core interfaces or from RNC.
If PS is no more possible, this could be some unlucky Routing Area Update Reject causes.
Cheers,

Hi,

Are you sure about coverage issue. based on your first post you have made short call test but nothing observe. Please make sure for the users who are complaining there is no coverage problem.

hmm ...
good 3G coverage
no RAU Reject
no anomalies in call flow, just UE stops working?
if you disable and then enable data connection, do you see the PDP deactivation and with correct layer3 call flow on Uu and RNC?
In that case could be a UE software issue too ...

Yes I am quite sure about the coverage issue. See I am standing in a stationery place, receiving -89 RSCP, EcNo -9, everything is fine and suddenly the HS disappears! The only solution disable enable mobile data.

I will chk for the PDP deactivation and the call flow scenario.

We faced the same issue that when a UE is kept idle for some longer time with data enabled on it but no usage (Background data keeps on), if the user now wants to browse then he will face an issue that he needs to restart mobile before he can use HSDPA/3G services...
PFA document with description36050.

Hi,
I am not allowed to access the "Technical Report of PS service stuck issue", but is it about a UE issue or is the reason anything else? If yes, which UEs are suffering from this problem?

recently we faced one such issue. HSPA signal disappearing.

We found CPU overload in GOU card of RNC. And that's too from Particular NodeB. After eliminating the particular NodeB the problem solved.By trial and error we have found.

Is there any stats related to NodeB request (multiast/Transmission packet loss/IP path error) pl share ur views.

I would suggest you try with another UE on same location, i know this particular problem is common with most Android phones. this could be only a UE related challange but do the tests again with different equipment to confirm.

thanks for report
i want to ask if problem is solved in RAN14 as mentioned on Report or not, and if workaround solution have negative impact on any signalling process
"New release version will modify this procedure"

Hi,

There is must be cell selection reselection issue in 3g and 2g....

We had the similar issue and the only reason which vendor Huawei provided was cell reselection to 2G to 3G . its timer was set to relatively too high due to which no update was received at RNC end that UE has been switch to 2G.

hiPlannerguy,

Can you explain how deleting unwanted RAI will solve this issue?

Hi
It is happen in my zte network also. And i found issue at rnc end rcb were highly utilized and hsdpa services not workung properly. Post pooling of RCB boards issue was resolved.
It is also happen due to high packet loss in Iub interface.

Hi

We faced the issue when new bts of N__ia was tested. HSUPA service was disabled which resulted in "H" signal in UE.
