Hi,

We are having increasing trend of RRC.AttConnEstab.OrgHhPrSig towards the end of the month. Basically, as users consume their data package, their PS services are first throttled and then barred upon reaching the credit limit. Billing department bar PS services of users that have not paid their bills for last three months at the end of every month and this day has the highest RRC.AttConnEstab.OrgHhPrSig attempts (Modify PDP Context) as these users keep trying to access data. This unnecessarily increases the signalling load. Is there any better way to restrict such users from repeatedly accessing the network until they pay their bills ?

Thanks,
Faisal

I also faced this problem in the past and unfortunately there is not straight forward solution.

You didnt say the OCS doe'nt send any warning SMS for the PS data credit limit reached?.Most operators limit this activity by continuing the PS session AND deducting their access from the remaining CS account. ;)

The best way is to limit these users from core end, We have done this in our network that if any user data limit/creidt finishes and he tries to access the network, his attempt is rejected by core side and is not allowed to make any attempt in next 30minutes....
He gets an SMS to recharge his account..

Remember one thing after this activity from core side the number of RRC attempts/RAB attempts are going to reduce which will drop your success rate and increase PS DCR.

Hi,

I faced such problem and solution might be restrict consecutive PS RRC Attempt for PDP activation from GGSN for Zero balanced users( 0 money ) so by having guard time between consecutive attempt to make PDP activation you may indirectly control signalling load.
