Dear Experts,

Kindly help convert the following frequency into UARFCN and share formula of conversion. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

Downlink (DL): 2125-2130 MHz

Uplink (UL):1935-1940 MHz

Can you also explain what is Carrier Centre Frequency (fc) and Carrier Bandwidth ?

Thanks :) I did use Uncle Google for the conversion. Could you be kind enough to explain the Carrier Centre Frequency and Carrier Bandwidth.

If you can help me answer this query:

After Conversion, I got following UARFCN Ranges my question is

Uplink (UL): 1935-1940 MHz , UL UARFCN Range: 9675-9700
Downlink (DL): 2125-2130 MHz, DL UARFCN Range: 10625-10650

Question:
a) Do these ranges fall under the "defined standard UARFCN values" ?

b) We have a claim from someone saying that since the assigned frequency below does not fall under the defined standard band and adding a bandwidth of 2.5MHz on each side of fc takes them out of our assigned spectrum of 1935-1940 MHz in UL, same scenario being applicable for DL as well ?

I think you are talking about UMTS, then the carrier is made from 25 steps of 200 kHz each one for a grand total of 5000 kHz or 5 MHz that is your bandwidth, the Fc is the 13 frequency from the border then you have 2.5 Mhz above and below that frequency. You can find the definition of standard in WIKIPEDIA at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UMTS_frequency_bands or you can read the standard from 3GPP that I have attached to this reply or you can download it from http://www.3gpp.org/ftp/specs/archive/25_series/25.101/, you'll find that your band is Band 1 that is running from 1920 to 1980 for UPLINK and from 2110 to 2170 for DOWNLINK, the I'm going to tell you that your are almost in the middle of the band, you need to check if you have legal rights for that range with you local communications regulator in your country. By the way you'll get the UARFCN by multiplying 5 by Fc and of course you'll get the frequency from UARFCN by dividing it by 5. Best regards,
