System Administrator's Guide

Overview

Today’s public safety, utility, and enterprise users want vital information at their fingertips wherever they go, with the right level of reliability, security and cost effectiveness for their operation. Multi-Net Mobility is a transport independent solution that maintains an encrypted data session (VPN tunnel) as a user roams between subnets or networks, such that the client will be able to maintain connectivity and access to an application host or similar node at the Customer Enterprise Network or any other IP-reachable destination, without the need for manual intervention or re-configuration. Applications should be unaware that the client has moved (i.e. mobility is transparent to the user). Multi-Net Mobility will manage IP address assignments to its clients via DHCP. Automatic network selection is used to select the best network. Multi-Net Mobility is a comprehensive VPN (Virtual Private Network) solution for networking your activities and providing users with secure access to services in your network. It protects communications against attacks from the outside and inside and provides secure device authentication and access control. With Multi-Net Mobility, you can connect through private networks as well as insecure or public networks so that the existing networks look like one single network to end-users and applications. Information security is guaranteed because the content of the packets is encrypted and both the receiving and transmitting parties are authenticated. Multi-Net Mobility Crypto IP uses a strong encryption algorithm to guarantee the confidentiality, privacy and integrity of communications. The Multi-Net Mobility Crypto IP VPN solution is IP Security protocol (IPSec) compliant. IPSec is a protocol suite that provides security at the network level for applications. With Multi-Net Mobility Crypto IP, you can protect connections for mobile data users; and give the mobile data users secure access to the application servers in the home network.
