Yes,
It is posible. This is server based floating license with base level of sign.
Base level of sign=12 symbol and this is posible with lmcrypt version 8.0.
In this case you can produce only license without ecc or trl security level.

hi I'm new here and interested in reverse engineering. In the past i read a lot about flexlm from other sites like woodman, reteam or exetools. For example: Flexnet SDK. What is Flexnet SDK, what can i do with it, how does it works and so on. In search of howto's I landed here. There are some interesting treads here but sometimes, caused of the reputation system, it is hard to follow the suggestions. All the little hints in screenshots and log/text-files or other stuff are unavailable for newcomers until he have enough reputation.

I actually have a FlexLM question myself:

I have all five vendor keys ripped out of the application I am playing around with. I also have the encryption seeds. I believe the application is using FlexLM v8.4 (lmgr8c.dll). Unfortunately I have no idea how to actually generate the keys. All tool links I've searched for are dead and I can't find a single FlexLM SDK. Can anyone offer any pointers in the right direction? :)

Most of china people use 3D4DA1D6h location and find seed1/seed2.
They say "The default value to clean the seeds variable is 3D4DA1D6h.
A lot of vendors are lazy or foolish and don't change this default value. So, a very easy way is just search the pattern 3D4DA1D6h in disassembled codes.
You'll get a lot of codes like this : mov [ebp-xxxx], 3D4DA1D6h.
Just break on every instance containing this value and ....... run.
If the program is checking the license, write down the value in [ebp-xxxx] when the first breakpoint is reached.
It's your seed1 (not XORed with key5, it's original seed1). The second breakpoint you get, it's seed2.
And trace a little back to the function entry, the keys (1~4) are in the parameters.
Anyway, this method won't work for every case, but for beginner, it's easy to learn. ;-)."

Exactly the same process and method is used to extract seeds in all higher versions 11.9, 11.10, 11.11 and even 11.12. (Both x86 & x64) [Linux & windows]
Just try harder and think what's going on there.

to search linux files you have to run FlexLMsearch with command line "FlexLMsearch008 -d -ea".

Hi at all,
I want to know how I can find my pattern for a software with FlexLM 11.11 protection.
I've tried the pattern for 11.9 but nothing is found.
I've tried to open the DLL with W32Dasm but nothing happen. It seems to have some protection.
I can open instead the EXE file.

Definitively, the software check a licence file written in XML, where a last tag contains a key. I think the software load this key and made some CRC with the other body of the XML file and then it made a sort of comparing.

But it uses some FlexLM key to check the content of XML file, but I want to know how it works.

I had used OllyDebug to check step-by-step the EXE file that made the control of license file. But some anti-Debug protection stop the Reverse Engineering.

Somebody can help me for this Journey? Which instrument does I need to start?

The patterns for 11.11 are provided here. If I am not wrong:
4C 89 4C 24 20 44 89 44 24 18 48 89 54 24 10 48 89 4C 24 08 48 81 EC 78
Just use any hex editor and find the above sequence and replace it with for example:
31 C0 C3 90 90 ....
For Linux look for:
41 57 49 89 FF 41 56 41 55 41 54 55 48 89 CD 53
and replace with:
31 C0 C3 90 90 41 56 41 55 41 54 55 48 89 CD 53
In this way you will remove the ECC defence, which works in most of the cases. That's it.

About FlexNet Licensing v11.13.0.2 I am curious too. JonhB, if you find something interesting, please share the info :handshake

You don't need to use Olly. Just use any Hex editor as such for example Hex Workshop, 010 Editor, etc.

Hi everyone, I'm trying to generate a flexLM keygen for software written in Java. I've managed to find the "keys" burried within a jar file inside the program but they look like integers. The seeds everyone else seems to mention in order to build their own keygen seem to be much more diverse than just numbers. Am I really looking at real keys?

I have run FlexLMSearch

FlexLMsearch v0.04 Copyright (c) 2007 - 2008.

And found that it uses

bin\lmgr11.dll FLEXnet Licensing v11.5.0.0 build 56285 i86_n3 (lmgr.lib),

I can't download any tools from this forums due to 15 point restriction. Any help in getting the required files will be greatly appreciated. If someone can PM me the files or a downloadable link elsewhere or a torrent link or even email me it will help tremendously.

I am trying with the target that is a new version. I got previous version that is c*r *k , and I saw that they change CC 4C 89 4C 24 20 44 89... to CC 33 C0 3C 24 20 44 89.
So in newer version, I also found CC 4C 89 4C 24 20 44 89... and change to CC 33 C0 3C 24 20 44 89. But it does not work. It said:sorry the license check has failed with error -8...
The flexlm version is 11.13.1

I have new update,
I have patch ECC using HW by : replace 4C894C24204489442418488954241048894C24084881EC78010000488B05 ( pattern6_addr: pattern6_addr+3 ==> 4C894C>33C0C3)

And it seems ok. The target has few modules and one module now is working properly with this method. However, the other modules just stop working ( I got the message from windows said that the program is not working).So what is the problem now?
Can you guys give me some advice please ?

With the ECC Patch, if I have a valid expired licence, do I need a new licence file after the patch has been applied? I am thinking I will as the expiry date is incorporated into the license and the new authentication will be based on the "basic" authentication mode. From the developer PDF ""A FLEXnet license model employs a basic license model augmented with one or more license model modifiers. In addition, you frequently license the same product under several license models to best match license terms to the needs of your different types of users."

I am thinking with the Flexvkg3 key generator (up to version 11 - my server version is 11.5) and the information in the existing licence file (HostID and VendorID and feature names) I should be able to generate valid new licenses with no expiry. Therefore no need to patch all the files with the patcher. Does this sound correct? For features I am unaware of that I want to activate, I will just need to enable debugging on the license server (which I think might be enabled) to see the feature failure messages..

"The license certificate is created by the product vendor. It is installed as a license file by the end-user license administrator or can be installed automatically as part of the product installation process. It contains at least one line of data (called a FEATURE or INCREMENT line) for each FLEXenabled product configuration. Each FEATURE line contains a license key or signature based on the data in that line. "

It is the version downloaded directly from the sellers download section. You can use it as a trial version or generate your own license key; there are tools for that out there. And even without it is still useful for reverse engineering. So yes, it does work.

to search linux files you have to run FlexLMsearch with command line "FlexLMsearch008 -d -ea".

I see flexlm the first time.
but I have a very old program,with license like "FEATURE SUPER_USER vesa 1.000 20-Jun-2005 0 (20chars) HOSTID = 001234567890"

so I get all keys, put to lmcryptgui.exe and my program started working in 2020.

but I still have a question.

1) how can I specify 0 instead uncounted(as in the old).
"FEATURE SUPER_USER vesa 1.000 20-Jun-2005 uncounted (20chars) HOSTID = 001234567890"

2) how can I include the old start date in the signature to verify all my keys ?
(of course i patched lmcryptgui check to create older end date in licenses)

there is one problem left with my old FlexLM ((

I used flexlm 7.0 under VirtualBox,
the program shows the HOSTID of the HDD,
but the license for this HOSTID doesn't work ((

lmutil.exe lmhostid reports
The FLEXlm host ID of this machine is "0"
and license with host ID = 0 - works.

Perhaps the masters faced ?
maybe need add some prefix to HOSTID ?

p.s. just check, HOSTID=DISK_SERIAL_NUM=70ba7a9d work too,
but original licensе - haven't text, only clean host ID.
I try change DISK_SERIAL_NUM=70ba7a9d
