Muting is occurring at random places at random time. Please suggest what can be done for the same!!!

Normally if RTWP is high, RSCP is in range of -90dBm mute call will occur. Other reasons can be MGW issue.

What kind of MGW issue can be expected?? The EcNo and RSCP is at good level...

I don't know if u are speaking about mutting during call or the whole call. Anyway the call reestablishement (RRC reestablishement) may be the source of mutting during the call

Which counters or reports for NSN can I use to discover RRC reestablishement ?

Hi,

You can also check Call Re-establishment timer in MSS. At times when a subscriber moves from coverage to non-coverage area for a small time eg. in a lift and if the cell re-establishment timer is high, then there may be muting problem. In NSN MSS, it is recommended to keep it as 9. Also, please check with RF guys before changing this parameter because it may result in Call Drop increase if it is made too low.

Hi sukant,

i suggest to you to check if AMR is activated. It's a prbable reason for muted calls?

Hi

Myself also facing same in network.lot mainy complaints rasing.

intail analysis mute happens when transtion happens from UMTS to GSM..

but now muting in 3g full with good ec/no and rscp.


if any body can provide a sound will be more helpfull.
