Thanks but my mistake if I wasn't clear. I was referring more to hardware solutions (test drive kits). Are you aware of any low cost hardware solutions / kits?

Depends on the definition of low cost :) , most terminal manufacturers have the capability of logging ,at least the gps & rssi, which you may be able to source with just an NDA.
