Hi, Appreciate if someone could share some info on SFH(RF Hopping) implementation and the description on how the SFH works in NSN. We noticed after SFH implementation the DCR increased.

Thank you,

Hi Friend
- What RF strategy do you use?
- Check MAL list, Maio offset, Maio step
- check reason of drop call, HOSR

We are using 1X1 network wide with 63 HSN. MAIO step - 2.
What information that we could get out of reason of drop in relation to SFH.
Thanks

Hi,

Besides the recommendations above I'd recommend you after checking the reason for the CD to verify the quality thresholds as well. In case of hopping the quality thr are increased.

good luck!

Appreciate if you could point me to specific parameter related to the quality thrshold

Thank you

Hi Rifa,

1. What was your base Freq strategy before shifting to 1x1 SFH? did you have BB before or 1x3 SFH?
2. Did you retune the BCCH as well?
3. What is the Frequency loading factor for the 1x1 Strategy? 0.5 should be the minimum. =#of Freq/#of TRX in the node.
4. Did you consider azimuth with respect to the MAIO assignment?
5. Did you check co-BCCH-BSIC after retune if BCCH was retuned.
6. Consistency check on MF list if BCCH was retuned.

Please make sure you do a sanity check on the above mentioned queries. I have recently deployed similar strategy coming from a 1x3sfh and improvement was seen without changing other parameters.

hope this helps

Hi,
Yes we had BBH before SFH implemented. We also retuned BCCH and no impact on BCCH. The impact is only noticed on TCH

What mean by "concider azimuth with respect to MAIO assignment" appreciate could give some explanation how this is done.

Thank you

Hi!

Some drops are expected: with SFN you get better coverage as with no hopping.

Check for interference: no adjacent frequencies is allowed to be used on SITE in the same time, as this makes uplink problems.
So, if you hop over 16 ARFCNs, only 8 MAIO values can be used on site.
If you use dual band, reconsider some parameters, intracell handovers are new story with SFH as well.

MAIO planning between sites is relevant only if your network is synchronized. Otherwise consider it randomized.
