Hello,
Radio interface failure means a process may fail during signaling or radio condition failure or protocol error happened,
Some of radio interface failure are related to Failed process it it is a NAS failure for example and they are not a real drop
For example if a user fails to complete Authentication , a radio interface failure happens and the resources will be released It is shown as abnormal release while it is nothing to do with radio condition, HW issue or TN issue.
To understand exact failure cause you need to follow all layer 3 messages to see where exactly the failure happens
