Hi experts,

can you please share with me any tool to analyse GPEH records ?
I search in all the treads a found some response :

- Aexio --> The free one don't support GPEH file but the pro one !
- Tems visualization --> No med
- macro ??? I didn't find !

Please help with relevant answers.

An other subject : can you please explain to me the drop cause :

Hi,

Yes I'm looking for a solution because I have one site with 3 sectors, each sector have 4 UMTS carriers and I have drop calls just on sector one and most of causes are : Transition to a DCH connection has been initiated it can not be completed. (should I change some parameters like interrate, minrate ... hsifls?)

jason

Hi jason182,

You may try Agileto tool (search for Agileto GOLD edition in Google) which is free of charge in order to process GPEH traces, too (module 4.2). Please have a look into Agileto help in order to know which type of the parameters you will need to record in order to minimize the size of the resulted traces. The GPEH traces can be activated at cells level, but I reccommend you to activate @ one RNC level in order to generate the full neighbors analysis optimisation results (delete/add/change priority) after processing the traces with Agileto. I hope this will help you.

Hi electron,

I disagree with your previous message as far as this is not true. I re-confirm that Agileto is able to process the GPEH traces and here below it is an extract from the help regarding the support for GPEH:

"-> The Call Traces (*.tab/*.xml) files should be a set of files collection recorded by the mobile operator (internal tracing) for the purpose of network (neighboring) optimization. These type of file(s) have been generic called at the beginning of this Detailed User Guide as the File #3 (see chapter “Before you start”). Up to the 3G vendor equipment they may be provided in different formats and they may collect specific information during the collection time.

For example, in case of E******* 3G vendor equipment, the call traces collected are so called GPEH traces and they should record the following (RNC internal) events:
· INTERNAL_SOFT_HANDOVER_EXECUTION
· INTERNAL_SOHO_DS_MISSING_NEIGHBOUR
· INTERNAL_IFHO_REPORT_RECEPTION
· INTERNAL_IRAT_HO_CC_EXECUTION

For Alcatel-Lucent 3G vendor equipment, the call traces collected are so called CTN and they should use the Neighbors Optimisation template available..."

Hi jason182,

It's curious why it is not working for you as far as I used this Agileto's feature a lot and it is working great for me. Can you say what is not working for you?

What version of Agileto do you use? I may try to help you if you provide few sample GPEH traces files in order to test them on my PC...

HI,

I have an error when I tried to open the files, I attached you 2 samples ...

Hi jason182,

I understand why you can not do the work. Before collecting the GPEH traces from OMC (by default as *.bin format files) you need to convert the GPEH traces to *.tab format which is the pure txt format of these traces and OMC has by default this converter available under the main menu as an option. After you do this, you collect the traces on *.tab format and then you should provide as input GPEH traces for Agileto in *.tab format. I hope you will succeed.

Hi jason182,

You do not have the right *.tab format file. The GPEH files in *.tab format should be ordinary text files (with the extension .tab) that you may see inside all the decoded messages recorded. Please see attached a sample *.tab file. Once you get the good GPEH files into the *.tab format you will be able to process them with Agileto.

Hello,

You just change the tab by .txt (see attached).

Hi jason182,

Yes, the file you have just sent above is the right GPEH *.tab format you should provide as input to Agileto (remember to modify the extension from *.txt to *.tab in order to be accepted as input by Agileto tool).

Hoewever, althought you send it again the same file apparently just saying that you have just changed the extension from *.tab to *.txt it looks not true for me if I open both of them into a text editor; therefore I assume that you have converted properly this time the GPEH file from the .bin format to *.tab format (txt) and the last GPEH file having the (*.tab) format you have just attached before is the good format you should provide as input for Agileto.

By the way, do you have an external tool which is able to convert the GPEH *.bin format to *.tab (txt) format (like you have proceeded with the two files attached before)? I would appreciate if you may share it...

Hello,

You just change the tab by .txt (see attached).

Cheers

Hi Hi experts,

No one who can share knowledge ? Macro tool ?

Hi Jason182! Analysis of your GPEH shows 1158 drops from EUL/HS state. Most of them with the reason "Radio Connection With UE Lost".
You can see distribution of RSCP when drops happened, most of them are near Qrxlevmin.
34435
So i would recommend to check neighbors and IRAT performance.
