Hello all!
I've downloaded some *.geo, *.img and *.pal files but I didn't find any information about the necessary clutter data.
How can I get them? Do I have to download them or can I create them myself?
Than you for your support,
bob

Clutter data requires satellite imagery processing, if you can download the sat images for your area, then you can generate the clutter yourself!

Hello!
Thank you!
How can I do so? I've maps from the UK and Norway. Do you know where I can get sat images and how I can generate the clutter data? Do I need a special program and do you have a "how to do"?
Thank you very much,
bob

If you can get the satellite images, i'll show you what tools you need for clutter conversion.

my friend, I am also interested in creating clutter files from satellite images..
could you provide us with simple step-by-step procedure ?

DCA, here is something I found on this, looks somewhat "difficult" but maybe a walk in the park for someone with your skills! They say they can get the building layer out into a .dwg file, not sure if that is geo-referenced? See here http://grzeg.livejournal.com/41190.html

It's interesting. Is the file (Export Buildings From Google Earth) can be used for ATDI ICS Telecom?

Actually I found a another method using 3DVIA PrintScreen which is easier to use (Just install and run!) and supports both OpenGL and DirectX.
I have tested it with Google Earth and i got all the 3d objects in 3d XML format
Attached is the 3DVIA PrintScreen installer and a free 3D XML player

3dsMaxConvertXML is a macroscript for Autodesk 3dsMax 9 and above.
Currently it creates 3dsMax scenes from .3DXML files (versions 2.0, 3.0, 4.0).
3DXML format is supported by Dassault Systemes 3DVIA products.
Dassault Systemes 3DVIA: http://www.3ds.com/products-solutions/3dvia/
3DVIA sharing of 3D files portal: http://www.3dvia.com/
To install the script:
[1] Copy the "ui" folder from this archive into 3dsMax installation directory ("C:/Program Files/Autodesk/3dsMax 2008/").
[2] Add macroscript button onto any toolbar via menu "Customize -> Customize User Interface":
[2.a] Choose the TAB you like: "Keyboard" or "Toolbars" or "Quads" or "Menus";
[2.b] Choose category "KoichiSenada";
[2.3] Assign "3dsMaxConvertXml" to whatever you like (keyboard shortcut, toolbar button, quad item, menu item) by dragging it from leftside list of available actions and dropping it upon the rightside list of assigned actions.
[2.4] I prefer assigning it as a "Tools" menu item. It's strange to know that so many 3dsMax users are absolutely unfamiliar with this method of extending 3dsMax. Try search engines for tutorials on "3dsMax Customize User Interface" if you're one of them.
[3] Check if you have set up your current projects folder "Customize -> Configure User Paths", since textures will be placed into "Images" folder.

I have a lot Landsat tif , how do I extract all clutters of the table?
Clutter code Altimetric modification
0 – rural none
1 – suburban + 6 m
2 – urban + 8 m
3 – urban + + 15 m
4 – urban ++ + 30 m
5 – forest + 12 m
6 – hydro none
7 – urban +++ + 50 m
8 – wooded rural + 4 m
9 – roads none
In the tutorial they are show the methods to extract only water and vegetation.
Which channels do I have to use?
And especially in that way I have to use them?
I would appreciate a lot if raedsab or another user could post a complete tutorial.
Regards

Hello!
Is someone here who can provide us a complete procedure for creating the clutter layer for ATDI from Google Earth, please ?
PS: More links from this tread are dead.
You need more programs to do a right conversion.
Doesn't matter if you use ogle or 3xml, both create a good starting point.
Needed is:
Ogle
Google Pro
3xmlplayer
Catia
3dsMAX
R2V
Conversion to a proper format can be done with 3dsMax, editing of 3xml can be done with catia.
Right now I only having problems to get the vectors at the correct scale inside Mapinfo. All is placed at the centre of the earth and that's not so handy :rolleyes:
So if anyone found a solution for that, please let me know.

Image CD of 3VIAComposer contains:
3DVIA Composer can be used by non-technical users and does not require CAD knowledge or training.
Intelligent views permit complex product procedures to be effectively communicated using a minimum of text.
Views can be annotated and labeled in any way and format the user wishes.
In addition, 3DVIA Composer permits the creation of styles which can be applied to any content to ensure visual consistency.
With 3DVIA Sync, changes in metadata, geometry, BOMs or manufacturing information can be updated on the desktop in 3DVIA Composer deliverables,
guaranteeing accurate and consistent information.
3DVIA Sync Integration adds the ability to automatically regenerate deliverables created by 3DVIA Composer when the underlying product data changes.
3DVIA Composer Player offers the same high performance as 3DVIA Composer.
Much more than a simple viewer, 3DVIA Composer Player makes it possible for content consumers to have a highly interactive experience with product deliverables.
