OML fault

Hi

6K RBS has all TRXs with OML fault and all the cell have Unstable TCH availabilty can you let me know the cause and solution

are you saying that 6000 rbs has trx with oma fault?? did you do some work like upgrade of softwares to your bts? or some work in the BSC?

Hi, You can check the LAPD stats to see performance of the transmission. If you had an alarm OML Fault definitely you will have TCH availability issue reasons are transmission is intermittent, site power is fluctuating. You can escalate this to O&M team to do a site visit, perform BER test and check RBS for any faults. Hope this helps..

OML Fault is transmission problem (Could affect cells availability), ask Maintenance team to check all transmission related issue

sometimes it's just because the cable has not been plugged /crimped tightly

Oml fault on the trx would point to a problem with rus/rug(if not all trx are affected), and problem with a dug if all are affected.
If mix mode is used, check the nodeb rus with amos command "st ru" , usually shared rus is disabled(sometimes even without the alarm).
Oml fault on the cf would point to transmission problem, not the same as trx oml alarm...
