Dear All expert,
could you please explain how to balance traffic between UMTS first and Second carrier because after Add second carrier finish, the traffic have go to use on cells second carries ready,
(Product Huawei) and what parameter that we must to correct for this issue.

Which sw version Huawei?

Do you use "Load Reshuffling" feature?

Are both carriers in the same band?

Hi,

Not familiar with exact parameter but i think you can use blindHO in huawei. I remember there is a blind HO tag in their system. Also, you can try to load sharing feature so that you have the flexibility.

@chefo
-SW RAN 13
-for another cells no problem
-is the same band but different frequency

please how can we do with which parameter?

You need set service and carrier priority. You can do it via ADD USPG and SET UCELLCSETUP command. For the traffic sharing you can use LDR algorithm. First you need to set threshold of load then you can set by LDR first and second actions/Code adjust, iRAT HO, interFrequency HO, BE rate reduction/. If cell is overloaded you can use overload control algorithm.

Hi,

there are 3 main methods for load balancing:
1. DRD - blind HO to another carrier during service setup. Usually is based on number of HSDPA users per carrier
2. LDR - HO to another carrier, when load on current cell exceeds some threshold - as mango22 indicated
3. service steering - optional feature - requires license.

@chefo

-is deference band ...

ok, so what I understand is that one cell is using U900 or U850 and the other is using U2100 or U1900, is that correct?

If this is the case, then you will need to consider the difference in the propagation for those frequencies. If you have lots of indoor traffic, it preferentially go to the lower frequency carrier as it penetrates better. Similarly more traffic will come from the long distance users - open/rural cells over the lower frequency.

Please correct me if I didn't understand right ;)

thanks very much for your suggestion
did you have for some document about detail parameter that you are suggestion? for Huawei Vendor.

here is a doc for the load control - you can find all related features described there with parameters also.

good luck!

P.S. this is for RAN13

Can you reupload to file sharing server (4shared), because i can't download that attachment.

thanks
