We have Huawei RNCs connected with our E******* MSS. Huawei has activated Enhanced fast Dormancy Feature in there RNC. After the implementation of EFD feature in the RNC, we have noticed a sudden increase in the Paging Error in the E******* MSS statistic and a decrease in the Paging success rate by 0.5%.

Have any one experienced the same thing in there network. Does this feature will impact the WCDMA CS Paging?

Hi Bro

Some pre fast dormancy UEs may have compatibility issues after moving to the CELL_FACH, CELL_PCH, or URA_PCH state. As a result, new services cannot be initiated.
-> Consult Huawei engineers to receive the appropriate parameter settings for this feature along with other comprehensive professional support. Do not configure the EFD parameters without Huawei professional technical support. Inappropriate parameter settings may lead to network failures.

Hi sirs, does EFD if activated affects KPIs?.. I have experienced a sudden drop in my hsdpa cssr. Please help.

Dear twister_ron,

after activating EFD you will face degradation PS CSSR, which is an result of RRC SR degradation which is normal since EFD decrease number of RRC attempts without decreasing the number of failures. but if you have any PS RAB degradation you can work on some parameter optimization.

Dear, I think that its most likely an KPI problem rather than real problem, since after EFD activation CN Paging attempts decreased greatly (more users now on CELL_PCH / URA_PCH instead of Idle mode) and since EFD will not solve CN Paging failures (failures will be decreased since attempts are decreased but number of attempts and number of failures will not decrease at the same percentage) so the success rate will decrease.

EFD must test all the phone in your network
to put it in black/white/gray list.

that why you have to buy service from vender
