The problem is not to put a default password and ask to users a PM for the password.

The tools are good and handy most of the time......
But does anyone can share some experience....with manual finding of this verify function....
For example i did maybe more than 100 targets where some tricks related to the graphs, jumptable, fastcall & case123 works but still there are many of them where it is not easy to determine the function..... Specially like in Linux x64 .... where the signatures are not available and the function itself is slightly different.....
Anyway there are other ways to fix the soft.... but this one method is very nice and usefull...... :)

I got it. it seems you are trying to find a solution for linux version. It is the same by patching the flexlm targets ecc pubkey (the only difference I remember for 2014 is that there is a file called libmmfileshared which has the signature too and should be patched)
What I really need is how to use this an rsa key of your own to get working lmcrypt.

pharmacist
2014-12-24, 08:46 PM
Regarding the analysis of the target:
1-U can open lictest.exe and you will see the following functions in IDA
There is subroutin called check_signature which calls another subroutine that read pubkey.
The check_signature subroutine is called by validate_license and mmlic3_verify_signature subroutines.
validate_license is called by mmlic3_feature_exists and mmlic3_set_tokens
check_signature is called by mmlic3_verify_signature
2-what is needed is to get the right response from the subtroutine that reads pubkey.

pharmacist
2014-12-26, 12:25 AM
in that case, there is another method to get RSA public key:

$ ./lictest -k
-----BEGIN PUBLIC KEY-----
...blah-blah-blah
-----END PUBLIC KEY-----

lictest has 3 hidden command line options: -c -k -i

-c means "check", i.e. $ lictest -c -f license_file

-k means "print pubkey"

Finally I did it thanks man very much.
Notes for anyone who loves RE
1-lictest in utilities uses a wrapper (python one) to call lictest in mmshare (parameters can be obtained in olly by tracing)
2-firing lictest in ida and look for function that calls pubkey and patch it to return eax=0
3-patch pubkey verify
4-find all files which have pubkey and flexlm sig and patch them using the same way

darsy
2014-12-26, 01:31 AM
Congratulation

mmlic3_verify() function is another protection implemented to target.
I think, this is "only" consistency check of license text.
Anyway you must also patch real flexnet ( certicom ) function - l_pubkey_verify().
This is not changed from older version.

Have nice day!

pharmacist
2014-12-26, 01:43 AM
I patched only the signature function and the l_pubkey_verify(). .....mmlic_verify use the function that checks signature and it gives the correct result as the main RSA check function is giving the correct response (so no need to patch I think) .This is after trying a lot of tasks. Correct me if I am wrong please.

Yes it is correct.

I'm sure if you replace real public key with known public key from your compiled daemon, with known lm_seeds 1-3, in all your target files and daemon,
you can generate "real" license with your own compiled lmcrypt. This is another working method.

But you need Generic ECC pubkey replacer by tanker v1.70. ;-)

Hi Darcy and all,
I interest in a software that become very popular last months here - SCH...D. After your helpful discussion with the @pharmacist and @Aleksej some "temporary" solution for win7x64 2014.4 version has been made. Meantime a new version became available- 2015.1. I intersect in the Linux versions 2015.1 because many features are available only under Linux. For the Linux version I saw, in a Chienese forum (http://bbs.pediy.com/showthread.php?t=197097) that the user @wtscrystal (http://bbs.pediy.com/member.php?u=35589) just replays the public keys with those obtained by @boot32, and available here, and used his license for the Linux 2014.4 but for me "just" is a bit more difficult because I don't have access to the necessary tools (reputation problem...) and honestly lack of deep knowledge :( How to replays the pubkeys?...I tried some old pubkey replacers without success. I don't know how to do that by IDA... The Boot32 license is up to December, but I think it will never actually expired, correct me if I am wrong?
Can you help please with this software? I really need of it and will be very thankful!! I sent you a PM with the necessary files.

Linux-x86_64\..... FLEXnet Licensing v11.10.0.0 buil
d 95001 x64_lsb (liblmgr.a), Copyright (c) 1988-2011
Thus the patch way should be the same..

I intersect in the Linux versions 2015.1 because many features are available only under Linux.
...
The Boot32 license is up to December, but I think it will never actually expired, correct me if I am wrong?

Hi!

Could you tell me which features are available only under Linux?

Boot32 license will expire after 31-dec-2015, I guess

Thanks for joining to the discussion Aleksej! I know that you are one of the most experienced in this area. Respect.
Probably these features are also present in the windows daemon and I didn't correctly explain that but because they are part of the Desmond indeed can be used only under Linux. For instance such feature is:
FEP_GPGPU
I receive the following massage: "Could not obtain license for feature "FEP_GPGPU" of FEP+". For me it is strange because I wanted to try the "regular" FEP module not the FEP+ (FEP/RESP and OPLS 2.1), which is distributed only to some companies. I suppose that some new features will be also present inside this FEP+ module and btw I am very interest in this direction...

Boot32 license will expire after 31-dec-2015, I guess
Yes, I know and think in this direction too but at the moment the FEP module is mainly in my toughs.
You helped to @pharmacist to find a solution and hope that will help a bit in that direction again.
The only point which is problematic for me and asked in the next topic too is this:

2-firing lictest in ida and look for function that calls pubkey and patch it to return eax=0
At first look in IDA the 2015.1 and 2014.4 versions look a bit different and when I tried to find in IDA this function I released that I am doing something wrong:
http://www.finetopix.com/showthread.php?41697-Flexlm-Stepped-Walkthrough&p=236863&viewfull=1#post236863
The Pubkey was linked with an instance and I try to change this Jz but without effect:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
.text:000000014001BF9F jz short $+2 (here changed to 00, probably had to be jmp)
.text:000000014001BFA1

.text:000000014001BFA1 db 66h, 66h, 66h, 66h, 66h, 66h
.text:000000014001BFA1 nop word ptr [rax+rax+00000000h]
.......
.......
.......
.text:000000014001C002 loc_14001C002: ; CODE XREF: sub_14001BEE0+68j
.text:000000014001C002 lea rcx, [rsp+1138h+var_1018] ; Dst
.text:000000014001C00A lea rdx, Src ; "-----BEGIN PUBLIC KEY-----\nMIIBIjANBgk"...(pubkey was linked to 1BF9F)
.text:000000014001C011 mov r8d, 1C3h ; Size
.text:000000014001C017 call memcpy

Can you help me a bit in this direction please? Indeed it would be great if you just PM me only this one file nothing more.
Thank you in advance!

But in this case, following the @pharmacist procedure, do you think that the new features can be added just including them in the existing license (randomly filed license for them in a correct format) or one should start from the scrap/beginning?

Regarding the analysis of the target:
1-U can open lictest.exe and you will see the following functions in IDA
There is subroutine called check_signature which calls another subroutine that read pubkey.
The check_signature subroutine is called by validate_license and mmlic3_verify_signature subroutines.
validate_license is called by mmlic3_feature_exists and mmlic3_set_tokens
check_signature is called by mmlic3_verify_signature
2-what is needed is to get the right response from the subtroutine that reads pubkey.

Come on friends help me a bit. I can't find the above functions. I use 11.9 signatures for IDA, any problem? Anyway, I think that the function that is linked to the public key is visible both in IDA and Olly but I am not sure which one to patch and what to be the exact patch. Please give some advices.
This is from IDA:

Hi,
I think that I found, or hope so, the function that call the PUBLIC key.
This function is present in all files containing the MIIB ..PUBLIC key and in Hex format is 55 8B EC 83 E4 F8 B8 0C 11 00 00. It starts with 558BEC (Flexlm 11.10x86)..
Then I applied a regular patch as those for I_pubkey_verify, i.e. at the beginning of the function I replaced the 3 hex values with 33C0C3 558BEC>33C0C3 and after that in Ida I see that the results is the same as the I_pubkey_verify, which means that I am pushing the function to respond eax=0. Am I correct? This is the patched function:

.text:00416FB0 ; =============== S U B R O U T I N E =======================================

.text:00416FE0 mov esi, ecx

However, the program not working...indeed I patched the ECC too.
What can be the problem?

if I patch all the function as shown in previous post (eax=0) it crash...both meastro.exe and lictest.exe. The problem is only in libmmlibs.dll. I mean only the lictest and files are ok but...
Any suggestions?
Here are the lictest and this dll

P.S. In fact suggested for patching function check_ signature and all others are located exactly in this .dll, at least for 2013-1, not in the lictest.exe. I used 2013-1x64 as an initial test.

"In fact suggested for patching function check_ signature and all others are located exactly in this .dll, at least for 2013-1, not in the lictest.exe."

Public key (RSA Sign) is checked with check_signature. You can extract all this funstion from libmmlibs.dll. I wrote about in christmas time... If you patch this functions on the right place, vendor_info string is no more checked ;-)

Big thank to kometata, istigatore and all together for successful cooperation.

Does "FEATURE FEP_GPGPU" present in your license file?

mayby you are using license with ISSUER=Boot32

No, it was not present Aleksej. I don't have any other license, only the boot32. However, after patching the check_signature function I added it to the license file and indeed it work. I tested it.

@synkro I have probably elementary question. Whether the check_signature is always presents or this is only in RSA defence case?
I saw targets, under Linux, that seems to use only ECC protection but the check_signature is present (not explicitly) too.

I've only encountered ECC in flexnet targets, this one is an exception (for me at least). In fact, some of its binaries contain ECC, or RSA or both at the same time. One quick and easy way is to look for the text string "BEGIN PUBLIC KEY", you'll be 100% sure there's a check_signature function in it.

Hi friends,
Something interesting :) Last week a new version was released of above discussed target. The defence is the same, no problem at all. However, a new very interesting product has been included - O..P..L...S..3. Even when I removed both the check and ECC I receive this one:

No FFLD_O..P..L..S..2008_PRINT license found.
Forcefield parameters will not be revealed.
Force field: .....m.a.c.r.o.m.o.d.e.l-v108010/bin/Linux-x86_64/../../data/f16.fld
It works (probably just "tell" us that we can't see the FF parameters and this is normal..) but I was wondering from where is this "No license found", any ideas :)? I have this feature in the license file. Indeed I will try to check in IDA/Olly to what is connected this message (don't think that will find that) but started to wonder is it possible individual/separate licenses to exist :) ?

Hi Darsy,
Yes I can. It seems that this very expensive feature (o.p.l.s 2.1=3) works but I still wonder about this message. The error message is implemented only in the m.a.c.r.o.model/bin/Windows64/b.min.exe, which is protected but seems to not have some general defence role. Here is the output from an example and IDA.
Probably I have just to patch this subroutine and that's all? What actually is the idea of this feature PRINT?

Just getting back into Flex as I need to open up a FlexNet 11.13.1.

Now I dont have a licence yet, waiting on a demo I was wondering if there is anything I can work on, and some pointers to nice bits of software as as newbie I cannot grab anything from here.

OK checked with one program and found the verify and disabled it, works to a point.

2nd program had to find the verify which i did by searching for

mov eax, 0FFFFFF8Dh

and managed to find it, BUT now it works to a point and fails on another licence check.

just walking through the licence checks now

Firstly I would like to thank kometata for his ECC patcher tool, I have used it successfully in the past to crack teamcenter. Currently I'm trying to patch their newest daemon which uses v11.10, but for some reason the patcher doesn't work =/ At least the licenses are accepted, but after that I get the following output from the log file:

[...]
20:20:10 (ugslmd)
20:20:10 (ugslmd) Licenses are case sensitive for ugslmd
20:20:10 (ugslmd)

20:20:11 (ugslmd) Server unable to setup IPC channel
20:20:11 (ugslmd) EXITING DUE TO SIGNAL 30 Exit reason 7
20:20:16 (lmgrd) ugslmd exited with status 30 (Couldn't find a master)

20:20:16 (ugslmd) FLEXnet Licensing version v11.10.1.2 build 106212 x64_n6

Does anybody have an idea what the problem could be? I've uploaded the daemon here: https://mega.nz/#!1NglQIKK!5GZ7zkhcTUETXUe7q0oiHptzMZOY-o4YbX1L0MLclaM

Although the daemon is working now, despite having patched both files with flexnet signatures during the setup of the main program there is still an error: Failed to validate the version for license server 28000@edi. Return value = -10042.
The log file says the following :

Output from command: "C:\PROGRA~1\Siemens\TEAMCE~1\bin\check_license_server_version" -appversion 11000.2.0.20150715
ERROR: UPS_CL_get_server_version_info returned error: -10042 : License Error, Error while attempting to get FLEX daemon version. command_exit=-10042
Exit Status -10042, elapsed time 0:00:00

This happens although I've patched the file "check_license_server_version.exe". The file can be found here: https://mega.nz/#!8Z4DyLiB!GO5yzHqqL2lGAnVbqiKmYDR7Dhc6Y1M_gfj0KcRnvBo

Hi,
Can you send me a link to the full software please? I am not sure that I can help you but can try.

I think that the above errors (using my patcher) relate to this topic:
http://www.finetopix.com/showthread.php/42024-ECC-RSA-patching-example-(video-tutorial)?p=237423&viewfull=1#post237423

I have never tried such patching and probably it is not easy.. but what I can see in IDA is that all these messages are linked to:
sub_1400B4260 (in Hex: 4C 89 4C 24 20 4C 89 44 24 18 48 89 54 24 10 89)
and
sub_1400B2B40 (in Hex: 4C 89 44 24 18 48 89 54 24 10 89 4C 24 08 48 83).
However, they are both linked to sub_1400B2950 (in Hex: 48 89 54 24 10 89 4C 24 08 48 83 EC 58 48 C7 44 24 28 00 00).

So, initially try to patch sub_1400B2950 i.e. replace in any hex editor 48 89 54 24 10 89 4C 24 08 48 83 EC 58 48 C7 44 24 28 00 00 to 31 C0 C3 90 90 89 4C 24 08 48 83 EC 58 48 C7 44 24 28 00 00
or make the same for some of the above subroutines.

You have already removed the ECC but the software requires to connect to the server, i.e. not to use only the local license file. Thus, to best of my knowledge it also presumably use trusted storage defence.

Thank you very much for having a look!! :D I've tried your suggestion, but now the daemon refuses to start.
Maybe I should give a better description of the problem: I've already successfully patched the license server and it eats the license without complaining. However, when I start installing Teamcenter, pretty early during the installation there comes a point where "check_license_server_version.exe" spits out said error. I assume that file checks wether the server has been tampered with. When one of the two files (daemon or check server version) is not patched, the error is something like "inconsistent license key". When both are patched, the error is like described above. I can send you the link to the full installer, but beware, it is 12GB in size and requires one to install and configure a 3GB Oracle database... it's pretty much a pain in the ass getting it up and running. I can fully understand if you are not willing to waste your time installing that ;-) But maybe all you need is the license server and the check_license_server_version.exe? You can find that here: https://mega.nz/#!BEZkGCTZ!XwstCdSq11yYc5kUBT7XjiqUDbuKC0Kd5y94q49klew It's the original license server installer, my patched daemon, the license file and the damn exe file. I think one can try starting the exe from a command line with the argument "-appversion 11000.2.0.20150715" when the license server is running. Then it will return the error message like in my previous post. But I'm not sure wether or not it is dependent on some dlls, so maybe it can only work when doing the full Teamcenter installation.

Hi,

Has anyone used the FlexLM tools with Freescale/NXP Codewarrior tools?

I have run FlexLMSearch

FlexLMsearch v0.04 Copyright (c) 2007 - 2008.

And found that it uses

bin\lmgr11.dll FLEXnet Licensing v11.5.0.0 build 56285 i86_n3 (lmgr.lib),

I can't download any tools from this forums due to 15 point restriction. Any help in getting the required files will be greatly appreciated. If someone can PM me the files or a downloadable link elsewhere or a torrent link or even email me it will help tremendously.

As it's using ECC, you'll need to patch pubkey_verify and change the dates in your license.
You won't be able to create a real license unless you replace the public key and that is not trivial.
As it's using flexlm 11.9 the flexlm patcher posted here will most likely work unless they have implemented custom protection on top of that .

Hi,
Anybody has the patterns for FlexNet v11.12 x64? Tried different patchers, but didn't work..Thanks

baluba
2018-05-25, 05:35 AM
I have found the following pattern:
4C 89 4C 24 20 4C 89 44 24 18 48 89 54 24 10 89..
which is similar to the ones posted in the forum, but not identical.

If I replace in hex with 31 C0 C3 90 90 ....will it work to bypass ECC? Thanks! I am going to try and post my conclusions.

Hi!
I feel very confused! Two years ago I worked with the vendor "agilent" FlexLM v.11.11. I found Enc.seeds 1 and 2 (b72966ab, b476c503) and generated license file in FlexLM SDK. All worked fine. And is working now.
Some days ago I tried to repeat that procedure and failed! Can't get the same results as two years ago! Unfortunately I forgot what version of FlexLM SDK I used. Now I use v.11.4 and 11.9, give the same result, but it is incorrect.
For example, I obtain now:
FEATURE Signal_Extractor agilent 1.0 permanent uncounted HOSTID=ANY \
SIGN=F1610FDE9630
but the correct license is:
FEATURE Signal_Extractor agilent 1.0 permanent uncounted HOSTID=ANY \
SIGN=AA766B1A2E6A
Can someone advise me what I'm doing wrong?

The code should not be the same. If you generate for example using lmcryptGUI or v 11.9 or v11.4 you will get different codes however all of them should work.

mshokrey (http://www.finetopix.com/member.php/102879-mshokrey), thanks for your reply! I didn't understand what do you mean by the word "code"? Is it programming code of generated vendor daemon or license signatures SIGN? I generate licenses using Flexlm SDKs only.

BfoX (http://www.finetopix.com/member.php/12080-BfoX), thanks for your reply! I tried with SDK v.8.1 and obtained the same incorrect result as with 11.4 and 11.9 :-(

Hi all

I get correct encryption seeds 1 and 2 of IPASSI vendor daemon (posted by tanhieungo) and I generated a license using old style (12 sign). I patched ECC point found in IPASSI too. Vendor daemon start service with success, but when I launch the app it dont recognizes license as valid.

Q: how to crack it

@Zeuscane: You are simply right, my fault! :)

I have found Flexlm v11.11 patterns for IDA here (http://en.pudn.com/Download/item/id/3644839.html) , so anyone would be so kind to upload the archive, that includes 4 different files (32/64 bit and ipv4/6), on some other file hosting, mega.nz for example?
Thanks in advance!

@arlequim Meglio usare l'inglese se vuoi che il tuo post sia comprensibile a tutti.

one million thanks, Carlitos!
I hope these signatures may also work on latest 11.16 version. Anyhow, @dskfl3x 2021 is ready for testing :)

167 patters/functions recognized. Not bad but their names are scrambled.

Also looking for this, my homelab with Citrix stopped working and my old signatures does not work. Tried to find it via IDA and found the function but unsure how to make a patch for it that can be used more generally.
