GSM cell reselection

Dears,
Now i have GSM900 and DCS1800. i want to reduce HO from 900 to 1800. Instread of handover i want to use reselection. Is it possible? because i have better cell handover problem that is too many attemt and drop is so high. Now in DCS1800 RX access level minimus is set by 25 and Cell reselection offset is set by 10. In GSM900 RX access level minimum is 5 and cell reselection offset is 0. DCS1800 and GSM900 have different BCCH. Please suggest me.

you can try setting higher cell priority for DCS layer.

Hi,

Idle mode reselection. You play with the C1/C2 = CRO offset.
In dedicated mode, you can change the HCS ( Hierarchical structure) of the DCS1800 and 900.

Why you need to reduce the number ?? if you have high number of HO from 900 to 1800 it means you should play in the HO algorithm parameters because the signal strength of the 900 cell is bigger then 1800, so logically the MS will comp in the 900 cell and will not HO to 1800 except you are already reduce the Power of 900 , in this case you can
Use this configuration in 1800 cell (PT=31, CRO =4 or 6 ), this will reduce the logical coverage in the 1800 cell to allow the Ms to comp on 900 ,
also , witch vendor you have ??

If i do your suggestion traffic will shift 900. I want to keep 900 and 1800 traffic. I need if UE idle mode, UE should camp on the 1800.

Vendor is Huawei. 1800 Layer and priority lower than 900.

Mobilis is right but you must adjust PT and CRo also of G18

for handover try changing pbgt margin or min access offset (per nbr) or delete nbrs from 900 to 1800
for idle mode try C2 and CRO
