Paging congestion on one cell

Hello.
As said in the title, one cell is having paging congestion. The problem occured yesterday, counters for paging congestion were very high, and I've noticed that there were some TCH congestion too. Any opinions on the cause?
Vendor is E*******.

we had similar problem +SDCCH congstion and found that the software of BTS had some corruption...

Post sw clear and redefinition, the issue is resolved

Try changing the parameter MFRMS, you may have to reduce it. Its normally at 4 & 3.
Check the SDCCH traffic type on the cell (assignment, location update etc.)

paging is related to trx, check the trx configuration and you can also check the number of paging times, you can also check whether the priority is sdcch or tch

I have always found that cells with high paging congestion turns out to be cells with the huge configuration of TRXs. Can you explain how please? Thanks !

You need to check in this way

1) if its just one day then it can be due to very high traffic or any other abnormality
2) if it is contineous, then as first step decrease MFRMS up to 2, it will releif for sure.
3) if it is still contineous, then you have to produced additional capacity (Add another CCCH in cell or split LAC).
4) Can you verify the MSC timers for first page and 2nd page response time.

Sorry to reply this late.. We've increased CCCH to 2 , and it solved the problem.

You can also consider PS cell paging (optional feature in most new vendor sw release) and reducing the number of retransmision at core level. But ofcours first action should be CCCH and MSMRF tuning
