Can someone explain what kind of Handovers can take place from 900(layer 3) to 1800 (layer 2) in Huawei netwrok? detailed response would be highly appreciated.

inter layer Handover take this action. You can balance between 900 and 1800 following parameters.
Rx level access minimum level /cell basic parameter/
CRO /cell basic parameter/
Inter layer HO threshold /Ho basic parameter/
Inter layer HO hysteresis /Ho basic parameter/

As far as I know, inter layer HO threshold/hysteresis work from 1800 to 900 and same is not the case other way around. Please correct?
er
I guess Edge HO is the 1 taking place from 900(layer 3) to 1800 (layer 2).Any other kind of HO please let me know

If you want share from 1800 to 900, you should set by Interlayer Ho threshold: 25 interlayer hysteresis:2. I always using this two parameters.

I am talking about the Handovers in other direction from 1800 to 900 (in which case inter-layer HO threshold doesn't work)

Layer 2 having higher priority the traffic will be moved to 1800 band based on the Layer threshold defined

Sorry I guess my question was not that clear.

I know handovers trigger from 900 to 1800 layer based on inter-layer HO hysteresis/threshold but what happens in the case of handovers from 1800 to 900.In that case handover from 1800 (being at higher priority layer) will not take into account inter-layer hysteresis/threshold.Edge handover is one of handover types taking place in that case. What are the other parameters affecting HO from 1800 to 900?

You guys should care about 16bit ranking in Huawei system.
When 14th bit is disabled, all the layer bit or priority bit also disabled. In this case, the system just care the margin btw serving and neighbor.

from 1800 to 900 you can use Edge HO , HO quality , load HO

Dear All,

I always use these two parameters for level based HO

OtoU HO Received Level Threshold/Iuo Handover Parameter
UtoO HO Received Level Threshold/Iuo Handover Parameter

for example if OtoU HO Received Level Threshold is set to 20 and UtoO HO Received Level Threshold is 30 and i want to shift some traffic to 900 set oto u to 30 and u to O to 38.

Dear malik.ahsan (http://www.finetopix.com/member.php?57646-malik.ahsan)
Is it in case of common BCCH? /900 and 1800 is same BCCH/

Dear Magno22,

Yes it is incase of common BCCH, another way to share the underlay overlaid traffic for such cells can be by enabling UtoO Traffic HO Allowed/GCELLHOIUO and adjusting the 'En Iuo Out Cell Low Load Thred', 'En Iuo Out CellCellGeneral OverLoad Thred' and 'En Iuo out cell serious overload threshold'. we dont have dual BCCH cells in our network does this layer HO concept is valid only for dual bcch cells ?

If 1800 and 900 have the same layer the PBGT HO can trigger the HO from 1800 to 900, If 1800 and 900 have different layer then EDGE HO, Bad Quality HO, TA HO and Load HO ( Load HO only for Enhanced Dual Band) can take trigger the HO from 1800 to 900.

If 1800 and 900 are in the same layer PBGT HO can trigger the handover from 1800 to 900, if 1800 and 900 are in different layers EDGE HO, bad Quality HO, TA HO and Load HO (Load HO only for Enhanced Dual Band) can trigger the handover from 1800 to 900.

Hi,
Can any one Experienced person tell me, how can i move my traffic from 900 cell to 1800 cell in NSN system
I have dual Bcch cell, meaning, Sector A,B,C on 900 and D,E,F on 1800 with diff cell id's and orientation A-60,B-180,C270 and D-60,E-180,F-270
i.e i Have 6 different Segment name

Thanks in Advance.

Lower your edge HO threshols & quality based HO thresholds

With NSN system, you use HO Umbrella
