What is 24 k paging on RNC.can some one help me with this

PCH data rate is 8Kbps and this feature (24kbps paging channel) increases the rate to 24Kbps. It uses a higher SF code and a dedicated SCCPCH. Improves PCH load and avoids congestion of paging messages.

You set the following parameters

- PCH24kbpsEnabled set 1
- NbrOfSCCPCHs set to 2
- PtxSCCPCH1 set to 0
- PtxSCCPCH2SF128 set to -2

After enabling the feature you will see

Increase in Avg PCH Throughput
Improvement in Paging PCH Success Rate
Improvement in Paging PCH Delay - CellUpdate

what's the side effect.. ?
THis feature enable in RU20 ?

I try to check in my Network
I get this parameter (PCH24kbps) in Wcell level

but the coloum is grey (value=disable), it's meant need a licence (commercial) to activate this license
How do u think ?

The only 'negative' was the Increase in MAC-hs PDU retransmission. Not sure if its a counter problem or its something else. No impact on subscriber seen though
