View Full Version : Original Transmitt Power in co-located CDMA BTS

fellow Engineers,

We have two CDMA bts from different service providers Bts A and BTS C and the are collocated on the same tower(Antennae separated by 2m). From the BSC side, the two base stations are configured to operate at maximum power that is -38dB. But upon measuring the power at the BTS, we found out that :

BTS A was transmitting at -20dB and

BTS C was transmitting at -44dB.

When we switched off BTS A, the power level of BTS C normalized to -38dB.

And when BTS C was switched off, the power level of BTS A normalized to -38dB also.

The two base stations are all operating at 10Mhz apart.

Any one with an idea about what might be causing this change in transmit powers of the two BTS's

Even that they seem to be far enough, 2m away, it seems that the scattering gives a valuable phase change to the first signal and this boosts the power while the other one sees a change in signal phase that destroys the signal and lowers the power. Have you considered to see the BER performance of your system? If the BER worsens this could be the case...
