UMTS P SCH detection

Dears,

Every cell of every network uses the same P-SCH, also the UE search for the P-SCH whenever trying to identify neighboring cells.

How can the UE distinguish between P-SCH from two different cells?

Dear cd0ekj,

In fact P-SCH is an uncoded signal wich is transmitted by all cells,

But P-SCH is a special sequence with special proprieties, it's a Golay sequence wich have a very good autocorrelation properties. in other words when such sequence is autocorrelated with itself the interference from adjacents BS is minimized and a high peak value is obtained.
