Physical and MAC throughput low and Application throughput is high

Hi All,
I am doing UMTS drive test analysis
I have case where getting “Physical and MAC throughput low and Application throughput is high
“.Which is practically and theoretically not possible.
I have investigated and found root cause for that
I am posting here to get Reputations (I am new member) and also as case study
Start thinking and let me know any further details required

sir the physical and mac throughput is definitely higher than application layer. In the OSI layer the highest layer is the application layer when considering the protocol of 3G. MAC layer throughput in PS384 or HSDPA is approximately 80% of the application throughput.
