Dear,

I'm wondering why there is a power sharing in WCDMA between users, physical channels?

Why there is no power sharing in GSM?

Best regards,

No power sharing in GSM, cause it's TDMA technology, each time slot has the full power (for sure with the power control).

Yes in e******* this MCPA(Multi Carrier power amplifier) allows to use over booking of PA and power is shared.

BSS21507 Flexible MCPA TX Power Pooling
The Flexi Multiradio BTS RF Module (FXxx) has three branches which are equipped with the Multi Carrier Power Amplifier (MCPA). Each MCPA can include up to 6 TRXs by keeping the TX power capacity of the module same. MCPA power is 60 W and it can be dedicated to GSM/EDGE or shared with other radio technologies. An MCPA simultaneously amplifies all the TRXs connected to it.
In static allocation, MCPA’s total output power is shared equally among all carriers defined in that branch and hence the maximum TX power per TRX reduces when the number of TRXs increases. This means that higher configurations have smaller cell size and reduced coverage.
The Flexible MCPA TX Power Pooling feature divides the MCPA power flexibly between different TRXs instead of fixed splitting. High output power is allocated to those mobile stations that require it and lower power is allocated to those that can operate with low TX power. This feature is controlled by a capacity-based licence key.

In Huawei Even, Dynamic Power Share 20 to 27W and Static Power Share from 20 - 40W exists depending upon TRX Configuration and GRFU and GRRU availability per sector.

Hi

In UMTS ,network works with logic of interference !!. So all users have to in controlled mode to work system perfect.
