Hi,

Anyone can share how can we identify site was having feeder swap issue without the needs to visit the site or drive test checking? Any method can be done by analysis on the statistic?

thank you

u can define neighbors 360 degrees of the cell and check the destination cell with maximum number of handover attempts; location of the destination cell can give u an idea or u can try locking some neighbor cell for 2 minuntes and check which cell takes the traffic......

Thanks for your input, however, for this way i guess much dependent on the neighbor definitions and the SHO traffic. What if the site is locating at Rural area which is having less than 300 SHO attempt per day?

For Partial Swaps you can verify from calculating the difference b/w average main RX lev and Diversity RX lev. if the difference is high you can go for a HC to confirm the issue. This difference can also be high due to other reason like weak connectors/jumpers/vswr. But they are quite effective. following are the counters for calculating this difference in huawei BSC 6900..

Dear, what's the threshold to know that Diff. is high?

airian
2012-07-17, 07:26 PM
the results of these counters is in mW. you can convert it into dBm from following formula.

P(dBm) = 10 ยท log10( P(mW) )-120

for normal TRX we havn't seen difference greater than 3 to 4 dBm. 1 or 2 spikes are normal.

Hi airian,

Thank you for your input. I will be trying on there. Moreover, do u have any idea for the case on 3G cell? Does the similar method applicable too?

thank you

Sorry dear no idea about 3G, you can check and share your experience with it.

thanks and reputation if you like..

Dear phantomzone,

Putting several posts in a single thread with no useful information will only give negative results.

Read the threads about Reputation and Download Privileges in Announcement section.

This is really a nice post. Please do we have such for e*******?

Yes Man you can identify swap with statistical analysis.

But it needs some expertise and experience. Also you can remove it remotely.

Usually when two sectors are swap their Kpis shows unpredictible values or bad picture. You can suspect it eaisly.

After that you have to confirm it from TRX Stats usually quality samples but note check always trx level hourly stats. In some hours trx shows very bad samples but in some quality is good due to the RF Calls from where it can make.

Gentz,

Most of the times you can detect the problem checking the HSR. If you have swapped feeders most likely the HSR decrease drastically

Hi experts, does anyone knows how to get those values on NSN?. Thanks!

check the main RSSI and RSSI diversity. In case of differences of more than 5.5 dB is required to check out the site for verification.

Hi, I had tried the calculation based on your example on feeder swap site, however, seems not much Difference of Main & Diversity Level seen before and after feeder swap rectified. Or shall i getting the stats per 15 minutes to get the most accurate reading as per in example given? But how can i get per 15 minutes stats in Huawei 6900?

P/s: this site feeder swap had rectified on 7th August evening.

dear;
you can compare traffic statistic before and after swap,if a big change, probably it is a cross sector

Hi,

Anyone can share how can we identify site was having feeder swap issue without the needs to visit the site or drive test checking? Any method can be done by analysis on the statistic?

thank you

By comparing the Traffic before and After.
By PSMM you may know the request of each sector in which nearby sites.
