Dear Experts,

We have a problem in E/// NW , whenever we have cell with two neighbors with similar bcchno even with different ncc&bcc HSR degrades on the source cell, is there any parameter to change rather than changing the bcchno to reduce the Ho failures, please?.

Waiting your kind and swift response.

Thanks in advance..

is not good practice if a cell has two neighbors with the same bcch. some interfaces wont even allow you to create the neighbor if the bcch is already a neighbor.

Hi!
It is known problem in GSM: Terminals check for BCCH frequency more often, as they check for BSIC.
Thus, it is quite common for terminals to report wrong measurement reports if there are two cells quite close
using different BSIC and same BCCH.

There is not much you can do: try to replan BCCH to give terminals enough time to separate BSIC,
or increase measurement period by requesting more measurement reports for locating (facing problems with slow response)
or increasing histeresys and thus delaying locating decision.

Thank you so much s52d, is there certain paramater to increase measurement period?

it is vendor specific. CHeck description of handover, locating or simmilar.
Before decision to make handover is made, several measurement reports are averaged/filtered using different
algorithms and filter lenght.
