in our 3G network, we have installed 3G repeaters. in the NodeBs surrounding the repeater location problems are observed. the voice & video calls are o.k. but no data throughput is observed. also time congestion is observed very high in KPI reports. when the repeater is set to off then everthing is ok. even data through put is ok.what may be the reason? the vendor who supplied the repeater says his repeater is good and there is no problem with the repeater.

try to prove there is a problem with the repeater. find the counters showing the RAB failure (must appear somewhere)
you could have problems in UL...
maybe the best idea is to show that under good coverage you also suffer that problem...

Very silly suggestion : maybe your repeater is covering a traffic hot spot, so you may experience congestion in your nodeB because you are now having so much R99 traffic. Hence, no data available anymore (pre-emption of R99 vs HSDPA).

Another possibility : you are creating Uplink interference with your repeater, so the NodeB is not able to have the same capacity anymore : no data.

ohh yes, this is def... the solution !

ps: elka_ you are basically suggesting the same ...

we have checked under good RF conditions also there is no data throughput but voice calls are very good.

How to prove that uplink interference is created because of repeater?

Pretty basic : check your noise rise KPI from your vendor OSS on the affected cells.
