How can we calculated max no. of CE?

Could you please give explanation on CE & How we can calculated max no. of CE required for Voice, Video, HSDPA & HSUPA?

Hi.
One channel element is the HW needed to handle a 12.2 AMR voice call. So if you have to calculate the number of CE needed to handle 16 12.2 AMR voice calls you need 16 CE. The rest of services is vendor dependant. So you have to know how many CE a specific vendor needs for the different services you have to evaluate. For instance if a video service is carried out with a RAB that needs 4 CE, if you need 3 simultaneously, you need 12 CE, and so on. But this varies from vendor to vendor, even the HSDPA.

There are CE for UL and DL separately. Some vendors could use different amount of CE in UL and DL for same service.

When a DCH channel is allocated, the CE will be consumed in UL and DL, this consumption of CE cab be considered as a cost and depends on the type of Radio bearer for DCH. Therefore the CE capacity depends on the HW installed in BTS as well as on the CE licensing restrictions.
