How can we calculated throughput???

Dear Masters;

How can we calculated Throughput, If Modulation type, SF & No. of codes are given?

If there are any formula, Please explain with an example!!!

Lets take HSDPA for example. Spreading factor used is SF16.

We know that WCDMA uses a chip rate of 3.84Mcps.

So prior to spreading the symbol rate is 3.84Mcps/16 = 240Ksps

If we assume a modulation of 16QAM, then each symbol represents 4 bits.

So the bit rate is 4*240Ksps= 960Kbps

Assume that we are using 15 SF16 (the maximum possible for HSDPA) then bit rate is 15*960kbps = 14.4Mbps.
