tabfile to KML and KML to tabfile converter using Global mapper

Hi All,


If you want to convert your (DT plot) tabfiles to KML/KMZ and vice versa.
you can use Global Mapper (search it here in finetopix you can download it including meds)

Global mapper ver. 11.00.0010
is recommended for this function since newer version looks like have problem converting tabfile to KML.

TAB FILE TO KML:

Just follow this steps.

Step1: Load your tabfiles in Global mapper.

Step2: then Click file>Export Raster and Elevation Data>EXPORT KML/KMZ

Step3: then at the Export image format choose/click PNG(Supports Transparecncy) and Press OK.

Step4: Name and choose the location where you want to save your KML.

-the output DT plot KML don't havegood quality/appearance but good enough for analysis.
if you zoom in enough you will see asterisk like symbol.
If someone know how to solve this problem you can reply your solution to also help others.


KML to TAB FILE:

Step1: Load your KML files in Global mapper.

Step2: then Click file>Export vector Data>EXPORT Mapinfo TAB/MAP

Step3: then just click all Ok (dont change any on the default settings)

Step4: Name and choose the location where you want to save your TABfiles.
