Dear Members;

There are some question which are asked by the interviewer some time ago. Could any give me the answer in some brief?

In WCDMA, How many No. of neighbor can be define for inter, intra, irat for each?

What is the channel element of WCDMA system?

How we can be extend the capacity of WCDMA system?

bro as far as I know we can define as much as 32 neighbors, same with gsm networks. please also aware of the sho overhead goal to avoid ping pongs and pilot pollution. By default the sho overhead is 30-40% depending on the operator's kpi.

Tipically you will need 256 CE (never more than 512) depending on the node b configuration (3 o 6 sectors) and the type of traffic that you are offering (speech, CS64, PS r99 or HSDPA). To support this you will need HW and SW licenses
In general the limiting factor will be the uplink CEs (try to avoid R99 connections of PS128 and PS384 kbps as they consume a lot of CE in Uplink and channalization codes in downlink)

you can extend the capacity through adjusting the CE.

if this one helps please add reps.. :P

1. you can have maximum of 32 neighbour for each relation type

2 CE: Channel Element is the standard measurement unit of node B processing capacity. 1 CE resource is necessary for node B to process single voice call

3. can expand the capacity of a Node B either by
DL Power increment
New Carrier addition
CE increase ( either by additional hardware or only with software)
Uplink RTWP reduction by MS power control algorithm tuning
and many more
