channelazition code and scramble code

what is the different between channelaziton code and scramble code.what these codes are needed?

Hi,

Channalization codes are used for differentiating physical channels in UL & DL and scramble codes are used for differentiating sectors in DL and differentiating UE's in UL.

Channelization code is as the name indicates- for different channels of a particular user. Since CDMA is a single frequency network, all data is being carried on the same frequency, even all the channels of all different connected users. Channelization code will be multiplied with corresponding channel's data, so that UE can separate the data for the different channels of that user. This works for the UL as well.
But how will then be different users differentiated? The answer is through the scrambling code.
