Hi guys,

I would like to know is the BCCH interference problem in 2G networks ( adjacent frequencies problem) similar to the pilot pollution problem in CDMA networks?

what's the difference in resolving them?

Thank you very much :)

They are not similar, pilot pollution in CDMA usually occurs when you have too many overlapping coverage but in 2G BCCH interference (both co-channel and adjacent channel) problems can caused by frequency planning and overshooting coverages.

To resolve CDMA pilot pollution -> down tilt overlapping cells to make the serving cell dominant cell in the area
To resolve 2G interference -> frequency optimization, down tilt overshooting cells
