Hi Experts,

I have two questions

For CS DCH (voice or Video), In soft handover we TX/RX same information from all Radiolinks i.e 3RLs. I mean same resources from 3 cells will be used (code, power, CE). Please calrify there will be no sepecific info from any serving cell or neigboring cell, all 3 cells in active set are using same resources.
For PS R99 DCH, what will be situation during softhandover. I mean if SF8 is being used so all three cells will use SF8 and same power & CE.
Please calrify and give to the point answer.

Hi! Increased resource utilization (including IuB and etc.) is a disadvantage of SHO. RAX-TX boards have different capacity in CE:
Net CE - DCH resources available in the system
Gross CE - resources available in the system including DCH, CCH and Softer Handover.
So for planning CE you don't need to consider CE for Softer Handover but you have to calculate CE for Soft HO multiplying
CE x SHO factor.
Thanks and reps are appreciated.

Hi ninjafine,

Its not clear, let me repeat my question # 01 again.

For CS DCH (voice or Video), In soft handover we "transmit/receive" same information from all Radiolinks i.e 3RLs. I mean same resources from 3 cells will be used (code, power, CE). Please calrify there will be no sepecific info from any serving cell or neigboring cell, all 3 cells in active set are using same resources.

Please answer it now.

What do you mean by "specific info", is it RRC signalling? Actually since you have N RL in SHO you have therefore N power control loops in DL. So DL power may or may not be the same (power drifting).
