Quality Degradation after enabling the EDGE

Hi,
I don't know what you mean writing about quality degradation.
If you mean speech and you use hopping in your network, and switched on EDGE on hopping TRXs, this problem could occur.
Packet transmission doesn't use power control and that's why can affect to CS calls causing higher CDR, decreasing calls' quality.
The worst situation happens when in a network is used hopping pattern 1/1/1,
than adjacent cells suffer most.
To solve the problem:
- enable EDGE on BCCH TRX only or
- plan fixed channels in cells or
- plan separate MALs in cells

Try increasing your HR triggering thresholds in cells with poor RXQ & high drops.This may improve the scenario.

Did you have GPRS enabled before?
How many TRX per cell have GPRS, what are the CDEF and CDED values? If you increased these you might have more CS traffic on non-bcch TRX, where you would normally have worse BER.
